Math
Math instruction in Eatonville aims to give students the skills and knowledge needed for calculation and application. Teachers and students work hard to go to the next level to understand mathematical operations and have students explain their reasoning and thinking. As we look to forecasted demand in a future job market, especially in the technology righ Puget Sound region, we strive to emphasize the importance of math and the further skill of communicating what that math tells or shows about a problem or situation.
Students in grades K-5 use the Eureka Math curriculum based on the Common Core State Standards and the Washington State Learning Standards. Middle school and high school students use Big Ideas Math, which is also
based on the Common Core State Standards and the Washington State Learning Standards.
Depending on student need and placement, students have access to online resources to further their skill and knowledge. The main software available to students includes, MobyMax, Zearn, ALEKS, and an online component included with Big Ideas.
For specific questions about the math your child is doing or for access to any of the online math resources contact your child's teacher or school.
