Eatonville School District is dedicated to the success of all students. Like all districts Eatonville has programs for students with special needs and highly capable students.
However, unlike some other districts Eatonville has made a commitment to providing whole school instruction for students in the middle. It's here that AVID, or Advancement Via Individual Determination comes into play. This program which focuses on organization and learning strategies benefit a large number to students in the middle who can achieve at higher levels with a little more support and direction.
Approximately half of Eatonville's teachers have been trained in AVID strategies. At our three elementary schools AVID is used in classrooms in conjunction with other curricula. This same plan happens at both Eatonville Middle School and Eatonville High School, additionally there is a AVID elective class for students to receive even more support.
More information is available at AVID's website, and from each school.
