Electronic Resources (Policy 2022 and 2022P)

Throughout the course of the school year students will use electronic devices as an important piece of their learning in multiple classes and subjects. This might be, to name a few, accessing information, creating documents and presentations to demonstrate learning, or collaborating electronically with other students. In doing this, Eatonville School District will ensure that the access provided to students is filtered and protected per the Children’s Internet Protection Act or CIPA. In turn, students are expected to follow the Electronic Information Systems and Internet Safety Policy of the board of directors that aims to promote positive and effective digital citizenship among students and staff. Digital citizenship represents more than technology literacy. Successful, technologically-fluent digital citizens live safely and civilly in an increasingly digital world. They recognize that information posted on the Internet is public and permanent and can have a long-term impact on an individual’s life and career. Expectations for student and staff behavior online are no different than face-to-face interactions. Complete copies of Policy 2022 and 2022P can be found on the district website at www.eatonville.wednet.edu.

Technology Handbook Statement

Technology is a centerpiece for learning in the Eatonville School District. Technology is no longer considered extra but rather as an essential tool.  As an important tool it comes with responsibilities. Students are asked to be users, producers and creators with technology. By rule, students should do so in an appropriate manner.  The modern world requires students to be flexible, knowledgeable and have the ability to access information and apply it. In the Eatonville School District we are committed to ensuring that every student has access to excel in these areas.
