Bio:  I have been a public educator for more than 25 years.  I started as a middle school education assistant (resource and behavior) in the Olympia School District, I then taught middle school English and Social Studies in the North Thurston School District, was a Dean of Students at Nisqually Middle School in the North Thurston School District, and I recently completed 2 years as an elementary assistant principal in the Kelso School District.  I have varied interests including natural history and everything outdoors.  I have hiked and climbed extensively in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.   I enjoy all sports, and I have followed and played baseball and ice hockey for many years.  I love auto racing too, especially Indy and stock car racing. I am interested in archaeology, ancient history, American literature, lithic technology,  and American history (particularly The Civil Rights Era, The Vietnam Conflict, The First World War, the American Civil War, and The Second World War).  I worked with homeless individuals and families in San Francisco, Philadelphia, New York, Washington D.C., and Olympia, WA.  I grew up in a small town in rural, central Pennsylvania.   I developed an intrinsic love for learning at a young age, and I had gifted teachers that nurtured and encouraged this love of learning and teaching.   I am grateful for this opportunity and excited to be working with the staff and families at Eatonville Elementary School.
