A Message From Mr. Birklid

Dear Eatonville Elementary Families,

Welcome to Eatonville Elementary! It is my privilege to be the Principal of Eatonville Elementary School. I get to work with an amazing staff and students everyday! I have worked in education for 20 years between being a teacher and building Principal. I have worked in a variety of school districts both urban and rural. This is my 4th year at EES and we are focused on creating an environment where each student can thrive academically, socially and emotionally. 

At Eatonville Elementary, we are committed to providing a safe nurturing environment that fosters the development of the skills needed to progress through their education and achieve their academic goals and success in the future.  This environment is not just focused on their academic achievement but also their physical and social well-being.  We have dedicated time for social-emotional learning each day.  This allows our staff to educate students on how to navigate social situations, interact with their peers, and promote teamwork.  It also allows staff to create an environment that is a safe and supportive one to learn. We have several positive ways to educate students about school wide expectations and we reward them for exhibiting those behaviors.  

With every new year we work to build off the previous one and enter with an optimism of creating a positive year for everyone involved in the EES community. We want to strive to create an open dialogue with our families in order to form a team that supports students as much as possible.
