Transition to Kindergarten
The Transition to Kindergarten is a full day, free, early learning program that focuses on social and emotional growth, physical and motor development, and essential academic readiness skills for a strong start in Kindergarten. Participation is based on eligibility.
2025-2026 Transition to Kindergarten program eligibility:
- Age: Children must be 4 years old by August 31, 2025
- Residency: Must reside within the Eatonville Public School boundary.
* Out-of-district students may be considered for open enrollment on a space-available basis
- Program Eligibility: Cannot be identified for participation in Head Start and/or ECEAP programs
Qualifying Criteria for Transition to Kindergarten (Must meet at least one):
- Limited Access to Preschool: Lack of access to a licensed preschool due to financial, availability, or other significant factors (opportunity gap)
- Income-Based Need: Qualifies for free or reduced-price meals (income gap)
- English Language Learner: Qualifies for bilingual education (English language gap)
- Developmental Need: Exhibits lagging social and/or academic skills based on a screening (performance gap)
