Section 504

Rehabilitation Act of 1973

"No otherwise qualified individual with a disability in the United States…shall solely by reason of her or his disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance…."

Each school district has an employee designated with the responsibility of ensuring compliance of Section 504. This employee, the 504 Coordinator can provide assistance as well as respond to allegations of discrimination based on disability.

Contact our district office for more information. The Equity and Civil Rights Office is available to provide information and support in the resolution of issues related to Section 504. The U.S. Office for Civil Rights is the agency responsible for receiving and responding to alleged violations of Section 504.
