The South Sound Symphonic Band invites the families of Eatonville to our 43rd Season Finale: Featuring Two Student Soloists on Sunday, May 17, at 3:00 PM in the Graham-Kapowsin High School Auditorium.
This special performance celebrates the next generation of musicians, featuring two student soloists who are recipients of the Thomas E. Anderson Scholarship:
Ella Wagner, French Horn (Auburn Riverside High School)
Alexander Pitruzzella, Bass Trombone (Bonney Lake High School)
For the first time in many years, the band is proud to award two scholarships, reflecting the continued growth of community support for music education.
The program will include a diverse and exciting selection of works, highlighted by La Fiesta Mexicana (featuring Mariachi del Pacífico of Pacific Lutheran University), making this a vibrant and celebratory conclusion to the season.
This concert is part of the South Sound Symphonic Band’s mission to provide free, high-quality live music to the South Puget Sound community.
Admission is free and open to the public.
Seating is general admission.
Eatonville Youth Sports Association (EYSA) is hosting a volleyball clinic for girls in grades 5–8. Participants will focus on serving, passing, hitting, and defense at the Eatonville Middle School Gym from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM.
When and Where: Saturday, May 30th from 10am-2pm at the Lake Kapowsin Boat Launch (29405 Orville Road E Graham, WA 98338).
What to Expect: Lake Kapowsin Day will be a fun and educational tabling event that explores Lake Kapowsin's flora, fauna, geology, history, restoration, and more! The Department of Natural Resources (Aquatic Reserves Program and the Washington Geological Survey) and the Department of Ecology are cohosting this year's event. Other confirmed organizations include the Washington Native Plant Society, the Tahoma Bird Alliance, the Department of Fish and Wildlife, Pierce Conservation District, Washington Rock Quarries, the Puyallup Watershed Conservation Land Trust, Free the Green, Friends of the Salish Sea, and the Friends of Lake Kapowsin. There will be fun activities for the whole family, including guided walks to learn about plants and birds. This event is free to attend, but a Discover Pass is required (Get Your Pass | Discover Pass).
More Information:A Spanish-speaking interpreter will be available at the event. Parking will be limited, so we highly recommend carpooling. Please bring your own water, snacks, and sunscreen. Additionally, please dress for the weather and prepare for walking over potentially uneven terrain. Cell service may be spotty in the area.
