·        “Other distinguishing characteristics” can include but are not limited to: physical appearance, clothing or other apparel, socioeconomic status, and weight.

·        “Intentional acts” refers to the individual’s choice to engage in the act rather than the ultimate impact of the action(s).

o   intentional hurtful, threatening, or intimidating verbal and/or physical conduct in violation of Eatonville School District policy 3207 and procedure 3207P;

§  Disciplinary action for students guilty of sexual harassment will be dependent upon, but not limited to, the student's attitude, intent, the effect on other students, and/or staff, mitigating circumstances, and the student's disciplinary history.  Based on these factors, discipline may be imposed, up to and including suspension or expulsion.

What can you do?

1.  Self advocate. Stand up for yourself! It’s the first step in stopping harassment. If someone is treating you in a way you don’t like, TELL THEM to STOP!

2.  Get Help. If you have told the person(s) who is bothering you to leave you alone and they won’t stop, come to the office, report to an adult and get our help!  Ignoring the people who harass you won’t make them stop.

3.  Be aware that YOUR OWN ACTIONS can hurt people’s feelings. You may be bothering someone and you don’t even know it!

4.  Take a stand against harassment even when it’s not aimed at you. If you see harassment, speak up! Help keep Columbia Crest a safe place where learning can occur.

5.  When in doubt- Tell the person to stop, walk away, and report to an adult immediately!
